(Original Caption) 1/10/1953-New York, NY: Dr. Casimer Funk, scientist who coined the term “vitamin” nearly 50 years ago, is at work in the new laboratory presented to him for his significant studies in cancer and nutrition. It is called the Funk Foundation Medical Research Laboratory, and is located at 253 West 64th St. It was described by Dr. Louis H. Bauer as a tribute to “that great army of research workers who have contributed unnumberable factors to the progress of medical science and longer life to people of the world.”
